I pretty much had this thought in mind when I set out, with ‘boring’ colours on them, like greys and black. But maybe some hints of yellow on their suits or something so they stand out to the player.

Have some gripes with it, that I want to change though.. The helmet looks a bit too biker, which is the look I was going for, but it’s too much, so I need to change that. Also there’s some perspective problems I can see, and he actually looks a bit to short haha.

The assignment is basically designing a level and the process behind it – concepts, sketches, references, etc. so I’m not going to go crazy on the actual game itself (although I totally want to), but I’ve decided I’m going to make a platform game in the Unity engine – which seems really awesome, it’s importing of assets and stuff is amazing (like instantaneous updating of 3d models/textures when saving them).

So yeah, decided on a graffiti theme, just because why not.. I’m most likely going to end up with a sort of Jet Set Radio theme to it, minus the cel-shading, but I’m thinking for simple coding it’d just be “tag these certain areas without getting ‘killed’ by <enemy which will probably be police type characters.>”

Only just got the assignment, but I’ve been playing around with some silhouette sketches and trying out graffiti text, as I’ve never even tried it:

I’ve got a few engines in mind for my game, but it depends on what idea I actually decide to go forward with.

Choices are pretty much: Source, Unreal, Cube, Build and Unity. Source I’m familiar with, so it seems like that might be my best choice, but I wanna play around with the others before I decide :P

I’ll keep this updated with any new stuff I do!
